2020 Nomination Notice
Houston Professional Musicians Association,
LOCAL 65-699, A. F. of M.
Nominations for the offices of President, Vice President, Secretary-Treasurer,
**Six Executive Board members, Delegate,
Additional Delegate for merged locals
and Alternate Delegates,
will be accepted from the floor at the September 2020
membership meeting at the date, time, and place indicated below.
** To insure a more diverse representation of the membership on the board of Local 65-69, a recommendation was passed at the May 2, 2016 Constitution/Bylaws meeting for the six board positions. Each candidate must specify which category he/she is running for and each candidate shall only run for one category.
1. Three CBA positions –If more than 50% of your performing income is from CBA work, you are eligible to run for a CBA position.
2. Three Freelance positions – If more than 50% of your performing income is from Freelance work, you are eligible to run for a Freelance position.
The term of office for all positions will run for two years beginning January 1, 2021.

Candidates elected as President and Secretary-Treasurer will also serve as delegates to the
American Federation of Musicians Convention and Conferences.

Should the city of Houston continue to be under a stay home-work safe order,
there may be an electronic membership meeting. Please watch for notices concerning the time and place of the Wage Scale/Nominations Meeting should COVID-19 mandates still be in place.
As provided in the Local 65-699 Bylaws, no member shall be eligible for nomination to any elective office unless he/she has been a full member in continuous good standing of this local for at least two (2) years.
Candidates must accept nomination at the nomination meeting or, if not in attendance, submit a written acceptance to the Secretary-Treasurer by 4:00 p.m. on September 11, 2020.
The election will be by mailed ballot. Ballots will be counted at the union hall by the
Election Committee starting at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, December 7, 2020.
