Houston Professional Musicians Association, Local No. 65-699, of the American Federation of Musicians, represents the interest of all professional musicians.  We represent instrumental musicians, orchestrators, arrangers, copyists, singers, music librarians, etc, regardless of race, creed, color, religion, national origin, age, sex, illness, handicap, or sexual orientation.

Not only do we negotiate and administer collective bargaining agreements which provide for improved wages, hours, working conditions and other economic advantages; we also establish a minimum rate of prices for the professional services of our members, offer contract guarantee and protection; and protect ownership of recorded music and secure benefits such as pension, for our members.

Become a Member:

Simply fill out a Student application (for currently enrolled students) or a Membership application (for non-student memberships), then call 713.236.8676 and make an appointment for an interview. The main purpose of the “interview” is to share more information with you regarding your membership and to answer any questions you may have. At this time, you’ll need to bring a check, money order, or pay via PayPal* to for membership fees. You may also mail in your application to P.O. Box 8748, Houston, TX 77249, however you may experience slight delays.

             2017 Student dues:  $160.00 (exempt from initiation fees)

            2017 Regular dues $160.00 + $85.00 Initiation fees = $245.00
            (Local 65-699 one-time Initiation Fee = $20.00 & Federation Initiation Fee = $65.00)


In addition to your membership, you are eligible to receive Life Insurance at no cost to you. Simply fill out the following form life_insurance_form1 ($2,000 policy, included with membership) and bring it with you to the interview.

2017 Member Dues:

Dues for 2017 if paid annually: $160.00

Dues if paid 2017 semi-annually: $80.00

*Life Member 2017 annual dues:  $85.00

*Life Member 2017 semi-annually dues:  $42.50

*Life Membership:
